Just Do It

Today I came to have a conversation. A conversation with that person that has a dream. That person that has a vision for what is not currently there. A conversation with the person that has aspirations to do something but hasn't taken the first step yet.

Embrace Your Vision: You Don't Need Others' Approval to Pursue Your Dreams

If you’re that person out there, I want you to know you’re not alone. I want you to know that it’s okay that you don’t have it all figured out yet. But most importantly, I want you to know that you don’t need the approval of others to start.

In most cases, people don’t take action on their vision because the people closest to them don’t fully understand the vision. I’m here to tell you that its not meant for them to understand. If it was, they would have been the person to get the vision and not you. It’s a tough pill to swallow. I mean who doesn’t want their friends and family in their corner pushing them to pursue their dream. The harsh truth is that often when we tell the people we love our goals and aspirations, they will put their insecurities and fears onto us thinking that they are giving us good advice. But in reality, they are discouraging us. I know it hurts and you want them to believe in you, but it’s not their responsibility for them to believe in your dream. It’s yours.

Choosing Your Circle: Protecting Your Dreams from Doubt

When I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue full time entrepreneurship, I was careful about who I shared that information with. I strategically didn’t tell my own dad that I was leaving my job until I had left because I didn’t want anything he could say to deter me from going through with it. Honestly, it’s the best decision I made because that same determination to fulfill my vision is what kept me going when things weren’t going my way and I had thoughts of quitting.

Take the Leap: Pursue Your Dream Without Seeking Approval

If you have a dream, I challenge you to take the first step. You don’t need permission from others. You don’t need other people to believe in your dream. You’ll always be crazy until you start showing signs of success and then everyone somehow believed in you from the start. If you have a vision for doing something greater, I encourage you to just do it.
